In this years, 2013, Independence Celebrations, the National Capital District Commision in Papua New Guinea set up a display of light all along the 5 mile freeway displaying the provincial flags.
Yet again, the colours were all wrong. We drove by quickly, but i caught a glimpse of the incorrect red colour on the arrangements for the 'Manus' flag.
It can be concluded that not all Papua New Guineans are familiar with all our Provinicial Flags, how sad.
I'll be writing to the NCDC and wait to see their response to the matters.
Keep you posted.

Brian Bell's Resonse - Flags Recalled
I am please to report that after my email to the retailer, Brian Bell, has responded and recalled all the Manus flags printed incorrectly.
The Purchasing Manager, Paul King, was kind enough to respond to my email, reassurring me that the incorrect flags will be withdrawn and that there are no more on order.
Feeling really patriotic now!
But another hurdle to cross yet. NCDC's mistake on the same flag as well.
Thank you Brian Bell & Co Limited.

From www.thefreedictionary.com a flag is a piece of cloth, usually rectangular, of distinctive color and design, used as a symbol, standard, signal, or emblem.
'...of distinctive colour and design ...'
I am saddended to see that the mini Manus provincial flags that are waved by the public come Independence day, for the past 4 years or so has been manufactured, distributed and sold with the wrong colours by a retail company that been operating in Papua New Guinea for decades, Brian Bell & Co Limited.
The younger generation of Papua New Guinea will grow up identifying the incorrect flag for the Manus Province. The identity of the Manus people will be lost.
This is the correct color of the Manus Provincial Flag:
According to the flag designer, Mr Luke Bulei :
I have since written to Brian Bell reqeusting all incorrect coloured flags to be recallled, new flags to be printed with the corrected colour and distributed for sale.
